ELEVENTH GRADE
ENGLISH EVALUATION
FIFTH TERM
OCTOBER 19th OF 2016

1- Translate the following reading and write down a compositions of 20 lines, expressing your point of view about the use of computers in our daily life.

COMPUTERS

These are electronic machines whose function into to process data, processing data means manipulating material which has been given to the machine and may be called Information. Computers have shortened and made easier the work of many people, it has created new areas to work in.  One should never think a machine such as a computer; it can replace the intelligence of man, it can facilitate the work by performing very complex operations in short time.

All computers have common features no matter that they require information is called INPUT. The operations the machine does with this information are called PROCESSING and the result of this is the OUT PUT, the person who determines the INPUT or information, the PROCESSING and the OUTPUT is a COMPUTER PROGRAMMER. He has to know what kind of information has to be given to the machine for processing in order to obtain the results he needs.

The programmer designs the programs with which he works. These programs contain the information for the development of different tasks step by step.

The computer is a very efficient machine to work with it, which replaces a typewriter in a very accurate way, one can work with numbers, make diagrams, drawings and so on. It’s a very good job assistant in almost all professions.

There are two different kinds of computers, the analog computers and the digital ones.

The analog computers are used especially for measurements by electronic means and the digital computers are the most common, get their name because the information receives is made by a code consisting of digits.

The brain of a computer is an intricate network of tiny pores which ca be magnetized. The idea is to make the machine do what we need by sending signals which set to work certain switches ON and leave the others in the OFF position.

As man is the one who gives the information to the computer, the machine by itself cannot make mistakes, so computers rarely make them, they only do what the programmer intends them to do. Remember that the computer is just a machine and that it cannot think, so when a mistake occurs the programmer must debug its program, this is removed the error in its instructions to the machine, after this steps are followed and all the input has the adequate order for processing we have a wonderful machine to help us in our daily tasks.

FOURTH TERM

I. READ IN YOUR MIND THE READING MY HIGH SCHOOL AND ELABORATE A COMPOSITION OF TWENTY LINES, HAVING IN MIND THE FOLLOWING QUESTION:

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT YOUR SCHOOL AND THE EDUCATION THAT YOU RECEIVED DURING THE HIGH SCHOOL?

My high school is very beautiful and wonderful, it has different places which permit to have a terrific time in each place, in this place, and I can learn different subjects and academic activities in order to be a best person in the future.

The classroom has many desks, a big whiteboards where I practice the academic exercises and the teacher write the topics that I do not understand during his explanations, at this moment, I also need to investigate the homework leaf by the teacher for this reason, I can go to the library, when I have to read and investigate the different lessons that teacher assigns me to perform the workshops.

Some classmates go to the technology room to investigate and apply their knowledge throughout the electronic nets.  All of those places are very ordered and all of the students   can perform and elaborate their duties without problem. There are many good students who are worried for accomplishing with their duties. Those students go to the library because they know how important is to be responsible to read good books and articles about different subjects and topics however there other students who like to go to the  cafeteria place , they  have a good time with their mates, specially eating  snack  or another kinds of food.

In the classroom there are OTHER female students who sing very lovely, and there are some of them that are practicing a typical song in order to represent the school in ANOTHER high school auditorium of the city,

Other students use to go to the playground to play each OTHERS and sometimes they practice basketball, volleyball, tennis or informal games. IT is a Wonderful place to study and for having many friends; some student can study here and have a nice day with the new friends. There are many people that work in different stuffs of the school and the education institution has persons dedicated to perform some functions, for example the headmaster who is the most important person in the school.

we have two secretaries, they are very efficient and there are many teachers of different subjects, beside there are many students who are the principal part of this great family and we cannot forget the cleaners, they maintain the school in good conditions of work and all the time they are worried about the order of the school.

II. READ THE FOLLOWING READINGS AND PRESENT AN EXPOSITION, HAVING IN MIND YOUR POINT OF VIEW OF EACH ONE OF THEM.

B- What's new.(page 132, first book)

D- Positive visualization. (page 122, first book)

III. READ THE WRITTEN INFORMATION AND ELABORATE QUESTIONS WITH THE INTERROGATIVE WORDS AS: WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHO, HOW, WHY AND ANSWER THEM, ACCORDING TO THE READING.

For example: - where did Toby go? - what is the color of the bus? - who went to jane's house?- why did Toby go to Jane`s house?......

-In each paragraph you can elaborate many questions.

TOBY STAYS WITH JANE
BY:  ANN THWAITE

Toby went to Jane`s house in a red bus. It took him most of the time between lunch and tea. After they had eaten their tea, Jane took Toby upstairs. Toby carried his soldier called Arthur and his small suitcase which had all the things he needed.

They said, that he had had many toys and he could play with two boats and her orange fish, Toby said, “I do not want my hair washed tonight.”

Toby shared Jane a room. They slept in bunks. Toby climbed up a ladder and slept in the top one. He felt very well. Jane slept in the bottom bunk. She liked the bottom one because it was nearer the floor.

On the first day Toby and Jane played in the play-room. There was a rocking-horse called Honey. He wore an old straw hat which had cost three dollars in a jumble sale.

There was a doll with a blue hood; there were three dolls, a toy piano, fourteen bricks and a teddy bear in a cardigan, a tea set and a lorry full of milk bottles.

Jane put the soldier called Arthur to sleep on the floor on a piece of paper. And then they tidied everything up because it was time for lunch.

In the afternoon, Jane and Toby went for a walk. It was autumn that is the time when the leaves come off the trees and lie on the ground instead. Jane and Toby liked to kick the leaves, on the second day, Jane and Toby saw a guy sitting in a pushchair.

A boy said: “penny for the guy, please.”  Jane thought he meant they could buy the guy if they had a penny, but Toby said the boy wanted them to give the guy a penny, they had not gotten a penny anyway. Then it was time for tea. On the third day it rained, Jane and

Toby put some aprons on and did some painting. Toby did big bold strokes, Jane did little tiny ones. Somebody knocked the water over.

It might have been Toby and it might have been Jane. Jane got a cloth from the kitchen and wiped up all the mess.  It was time for lunch. On the fourth day, Jane and Toby went up to the park. The soldier called Arthur went too.

They saw a mounted policeman and three deer. Then it was time for lunch. On the fifth day they went to the river to feed the ducks and swans. They took a paper bag full of odd bits of bread.  They each ate a crust first to see that it was all right for the ducks and the swans. When the bag was empty, they went home to have their own tea. The sixth day was Guy Fawkes Day. As soon as it was dark, Toby and Jane put on their overcoats and wellington boots, instead of going upstairs to bed; they went into the next door garden to see the bonfire and the fireworks.

Jane and Toby were given a sparkler each, because they said they would be very careful. Toby whirled his roan in the air, but Jane holds hers very still. Little stars shot all over the place. Then they went inside, they had sausages on sticks and baked potatoes and chocolate cake and orange juice, then it really was time for bed. On the seventh day, Toby went home.
